160x160mm Robotic drawing (part 2 - drawing)

Making Geoffrey into a real boy Prep:  Separate the hatching on the hat (so that I can make it a separate colour).  Setting up all the codes (thanks to the shared ones). Oops...not to scale.  There he is.  Drawing timed booked.  Drawing: Okay...so... I really wanted to use this black paper I had, along with some white and metallic gel pens.  Small problem... It kept moving. This paper is thicker, so the magnets weren't enough. (I also suspect that I had the pen too low. But I digress.) Tape to the rescue!  (I did that thing where you stick the tape to your clothes before using it to make sure that it wouldn't leave any weird residue anywhere).  Here are the two separate gcodes successfully running in pronterface.  Progress Montage:  Minor problem:  The paper wasn't tall enough, so I had to add in another piece to make sure that everything fit. (I was able to easily wipe off the white gel pen from the printer bed, so no worries...

Geoffrey I took an old OBDF project (Geoffrey) and used the "Make2D" command to make an outline, shifting Geoffrey's angle to figure out the best angle to use as an outline shade.  Geoffrey!  Clean up some of the lines to help set things up for the shading.      Changed the scale and framing.  Used my file that I made in class as a refrence for the different fills.  Since all the lines are individual, they need to be grouped for the grasshopper commands.  Look at him, with his little hat.  Lots of splitting and joining to make closed shapes to use the fills in.  Adding in a random fill Well...that's pleasant to look at Slightly better Adding in some other hatching Even more hatching.  Baked and ready.  Files:  Geoffrey

Video Tutorial Progress: Video One: Managed to make the points and then make a line from said two points.  Video 2: Making the squiggly lines, going on to then divide them.  First version of connecting lines between the two lines.  Curve divisions with sliders Better connection lines Got confused by the 7 for the number integer thing. Eventually figured it out.  Jumped the gun with the sliders before, put them back here.  Playing with the display settings and component names Video 3   Setting up the points based on length with a the middle line, and then the ones closest to the ones on the middle line. Put in the lines that span the points on the two outer lines.  Curved the lines through the points on the middle curve.  Video 4 Figuring out how to hide things.  Messing with the sliders and baking them (putting them into Rhino).  Video 5 Messing with the lines in a more 3D manner.  Changing the arches into biarches/curves.  Add...
